MetroArtsCo Staff

Virginia B. Britton, Director, leads the professional staff. Ms. Britton's resume includes academic accomplishments, extensive ballet training, experience as a professional performer and choreographer, as well as, business and teaching experience. She founded The Alexandria Ballet school and company and served as Director from 1991 until it closed in 2012. The expert trained professional staff of MetroArtsCo hold degrees in dance, certificates with Imperial Society of Teachers, and the National Dance Council of America in different genres of dance. 

Samantha Nuamah - African Dance teacher and teacher trainer.

Bess Sussman - Music teacher, dance teacher and choreographer.

Lori Clark -Lori Clark is an astonishingly accomplished dance artist and a true world dance master. Lori speaks seven languages. She has a Master's Degree in Dance from American University, and performs and teaches flamenco, Kathak, ballet, Arabic dance, Modern dance, Bollywood, and has performs in Sufi dance, theatrical, operatic,  musical  and folkloric performances. Lori teaches group and private classes in technique and choreographs.

Joe Biney - African Drumming and Dance, teacher, and teacher trainer. The African dancer in "I Here You Now" has always loved dancing since childhood. He has danced with and taught African drums at the University of Kentucky. He teaches adults and children to play the cultural drums.  He performs African dance with Fritete African Drum and Dance Ensemble.  He also dances and Performs with Kuwkuwa Dance workshop.
